India has these special travel arrangements with 15 countries: “India formalized an air bubble with Germany in July 2020. An air blowing order allows nationals of both countries to travel in both directions. However, Indian nationals wishing to travel to Germany are subject to restrictions that significantly penalise Indian air carriers, which has led to an unfair distribution of traffic to Lufthansa`s benefit. Unlike Indian airlines, which operate 3-4 flights per week, Lufthansa operated 20 flights per week. Despite this disparity, we offered to withdraw 7 flights a week for Lufthansa, which they did not accept. Negotiations are continuing,” said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), India`s aviation authority. Click here to read that Mint ePaperMint is now on Telegram. .
